Next show will be held on
3rd February 2018
2018 show preparations are underway!
The Nimmitabel Show Committee are busy getting things ready for our next show. There are many things to arrange, not the least of which are the Guest of Honour and the Showgirl, who together will open the show.
All of our usual events and attractions will again be on offer at the show, including the popular Show Shear, which last year was held for the first time on the brand new 3 stand shearing board built by our wonderful community volunteers. The Chainsaw Events, including post ripping, will again be a must watch, usually held right in front of the bar at the end of the day, naturally drawing a big crowd.
Once again we expect to have a packed Horse Schedule, starting very early and running all day. Here's hoping we get our usual large number of high quality entries. The Stockman's Challenge will be in it's third year and it is getting better each time! Come and watch the awesome skills on display as horse and rider tackle a series of obstacles. Also in it's third year will be the Nimmitabel Bushkid's Challenge. This event has proved very popular. Get the kids ready. Ages from 5 to 12 years can enter.
The ever popular Yard Dog Trials should again attract a large number of entries, and kicks off early at 8am. These dogs show their natural ability to herd sheep and it is one of those events that is hard to walk away from once you start watching. The Stud and Commercial Cattle sections are once again expecting to showcase some magnificent beasts. The new and improved sheep shed means that the Judging Competition is now under cover and the Sheep Section events will flow smoothly throughout the day.
The 2018 Main Schedule will be available soon right here on our website, so keep checking back here or on our facebook page for regular updates.
Put it in your diary. On the 3rd February, 2018 the place to be is at the Nimmitabel show. You won't want to miss it!
